Kevin Backhouse, our founder and director, holds CA (SA), CIMA, and MBA qualifications, with extensive experience in senior financial and business roles since 2007. His passion for solving business problems combined with his analytical and people skills makes him uniquely placed to serve as your part-time or acting outsourced CFO. Kevin has served as Financial Director and CFO across the wholesale, distribution and services sectors since 2010, and is passionate about making a meaningful impact on the businesses he services.

Kevin is a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) and holds an Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) qualification from CIMA, reflecting his expertise in financial management and business strategy. His MBA from Wits Business School further enhances his ability to approach business challenges with a comprehensive perspective.

Kevin’s has a unique set of strategic, analytical, communication and people skills that makes it easy to discuss personal and business challenges with. His genuine curiosity and passion for business allows him to get to the core of what your business challenges are, and to find solutions for whatever problems you are facing.

Throughout his career, Kevin has held C-suite financial positions across various industries, including retail, distribution, services and wholesale. His deep curiosity and understanding of these industries have been crucial in driving profitability and improving cash flow for his clients. Kevin’s experience extends to strategic oversight, corporate governance and tax, serving as an Independent Non-Executive Director for some of BBO Consulting’s clients, adding further value to his clients with his broad expertise.
